Lindy Pruitt is a dedicated educational leader with nearly three decades of experience serving the Griffin-Spalding County School System. Over her 29.5-year career, she has held influential roles as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal at both the middle and high school levels. Mrs. Pruitt served seven years as Principal of Spalding High School and ten years as principal at two middle schools, leading Taylor Street Middle School beginning in 2004 and later opening Rehoboth Road Middle School in 2009.
Mrs. Pruitt began her career in 1996 at A.Z. Kelsey Middle School, where she taught science, English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Reading. Her excellence in the classroom was recognized early, earning Teacher of the Year at Cowan Middle School, where she also served as an Instructional Coach. In addition to her academic contributions, she coached middle school basketball and recreational league softball, strengthening her commitment to student growth both inside and outside the classroom.
A lifelong learner, Mrs. Pruitt earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from West Georgia College and later obtained her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She holds a Gifted Endorsement and completed the University of Georgia’s District Office Certification Program in 2013. She pursued her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University, completing all coursework, and earned a Leadership and Management Certificate from the Harvard Principal Center.
Mrs. Pruitt is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE), the National Association of Secondary Principals (NASSP), the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL), the Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals (GASSP), and the Georgia Association of Educators (GAE). She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Griffin College and Career Academy (GRCCA) and is a member of Griffin Daybreak Rotary. Beyond her professional roles, she is committed to community service and is an active member of Rock Springs Church.
Outside of education, Mrs. Pruitt is known for her passion for health, wellness, and athletic competition. She is an avid reader, outdoor enthusiast, and competitor in Ironman events across the nation. She trains individuals in nutrition, personal fitness, and competitive readiness, and enjoys running, biking, and CrossFit in her spare time.
Mrs. Pruitt is most proud of her family. She has three sons—Chuck, Chad, and Chase Pruitt—two of whom are educators. Her two oldest sons are married, and she is the proud grandmother of five beautiful grandchildren.
