It is an honor to be appointed as principal at Cowan Road Elementary School.  I will begin my 27th year in education this school year.  The past seventeen years of my career have been served alongside the staff, students, and families of Lamar County Schools. I was the principal of Lamar County Primary School for nine years and assistant principal of Lamar County Middle School for eight years. My educational career began as a health/physical education teacher and coach at Eagle’s Landing High School in 1999.  I earned a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from Georgia College and State University, a master’s degree in Health Promotion from The University of Alabama and a specialist degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.  As principal of Cowan Road Elementary, my unwavering commitment is to cultivate an environment where every student feels valued, challenged and inspired to reach their full potential. This is achieved through dedicated service to our students and a collaborative partnership with their families, ensuring that together, we build a foundation for lifelong learning and success.  

My wife (Tracie) is an elementary school teacher and she begins her 28th year this school year.  We have three children.  Luke (21), Whit (19), and Hampton (16).  During my free time, I enjoy all things outdoors.  Waterfowl hunting, fishing the Flint River, finding shark teeth on the beach at Edisto Island, sunrises, sunsets, the list goes on.
