Recently, students across our district submitted their original pieces for the annual Young Georgia Authors (YGA) Writing Competition. This competition fosters a love of writing, encourages the development of students’ craft and provides an opportunity to celebrate excellence in both the arts and academics. Please join us in congratulating the following scholars for their outstanding work! Their submissions will now advance to the RESA level of competition!

GSCS School Clerks were treated to a Clerk and Canvas Appreciation Luncheon today. GSCS Senior Cabinet and Executive Secretaries hosted the luncheon for the school clerks. They had great food and had a great time playing "Friendly Feud" and painting canvases. Thank you, school clerks, for all you do for our students and staff!

Griffin-Spalding County School System schools will be closed for Mid-Winter Break from Monday, February 16 through Friday, February 20, 2026. Students will return to school on Monday, February 23, 2026. As we move further into the second semester, consistent attendance remains especially important as students prepare for upcoming End Of Grade assessments. We hope your family enjoys a safe and restful break, and we appreciate your continued support in prioritizing student attendance.

Our fabulous 1st grade drama group performed “Five Little Monkeys (Jumping on the Bed)” at GSCS Literacy Days and took FIRST place! 🎭🏆
They will perform again tomorrow at Griffin RESA, where first-place winners from surrounding districts will take the stage. We are so proud of their hard work, teamwork, and confidence!
