Our classified staff are often the first to greet our students each morning and the last to wave goodbye each afternoon. They keep our schools and grounds safe and clean. They help students learn by supporting technology, providing meals and encouraging them. Our schools would not be the same without them. GSCS School Clerks were treated to a Clerk and Canvas Appreciation Luncheon today. GSCS Senior Cabinet and Executive Secretaries hosted the luncheon for the school clerks. This week, middle and high school spring student athletes participated in the Beyond Self Athletes' Assembly, led by Community Partner and Mentor David Johnson. The Beyond Self Athlete Program is meant to grow student leadership skills, build character and improve school culture. Athletes were told they are all Persons Of Influence (POI) and the importance of the 3 R's: Respect Yourself, Respect Others and Take Responsibility. Keynote Speaker Tunji Adebayo inspired student-athletes to develop the skills and attitudes they need to recognize their potential.

On December 8-10, 2025, Griffin Spalding County Schools held their annual Literacy Days competition. Students across
the district expressed their creativity in: K-2 Read Aloud, K-8 Poetry Recitation, K-8 Drama, and grades 3-8 Ready Writing.
There was a high level of participation from all elementary and middle schools, with almost 200 participants. First-place
winners will represent GSCS at the Griffin RESA Regional Literacy Days competition in February 2026. The following
students were awarded first, second, and third place in the following categories:
